You don’t have to be rich − or famous − to enjoy amazing experiences like these …

DELIA BILLINGHAM WAS GOB-SMACKED WHEN SHE WON A HOLIDAY TO JAPAN
Delia loves comping − in fact she has been entering comps for over 20 years now − and makes sure she enters at least 30 comps a week. She doesn’t just stick to postal entries, but now, in her own words, ‘has moved with the times’ and enters internet comps too.
I know there are negatives of entering internet comps; more people enter so less chance of winning, and not everyone has a computer (which is why we only mention a few good sites each month in WF and we include more in our sister magazine MyComps: www.mycomps.co.uk). BUT someone always has to win the prizes on the internet and so if you do have the chance to enter these comps too − don’t rule them out! They are quick, easy and FREE. Your odds of winning may be lower, but still, someone has to win. It worked for Delia….
“The best prize I have ever won!”
Delia entered a Nurofen promotion online to win a trip to Japan. She had never been before, and in fact had never even thought of going. It certainly wasn’t in the budget for the next summer holiday.
Then she got the call we all love to get … the promoters of the competition phoned to tell her that she was one of the four lucky first-prize winners. She would be jetting off to Japan!
Delia couldn’t believe it, and as soon as she put the phone down from the promoter, picked it straight back up again to call her cousin.
“Have you ever thought of going to Japan?” She asked her cousin, who definitely hadn’t. “Well think about it now− you’re coming with me!”
Their trip was a totally unique experience for them both. They flew in to Kyoto − staying in a fabulous hotel in the centre of the city, giving them plenty of opportunity to explore.
There are over 2000 Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines in Kyoto, as well as palaces, gardens and traditional architecture, making it one of the best preserved cities in Japan. The city centre still has many of the traditional wooden houses (machiya) which add to the beauty of the city.
They then traveled on to Tokyo and experienced the fast-paced buzz of the world’s most populous city. The bust streets didn’t stop them getting around, they took to it like ducks on water, using the underground system to navigate around the city and visit all the sites.
Just West of Tokyo is the highest mountain in Japan; Mount Fuji − and of course no trip to Japan would complete without taking in the spectacular views from the top.
Unfortunately the day that Delia and her cousin climbed the mountain was one of the foggiest days of their trip so the views weren’t as clear as they could be. But being so high that you are standing amongst the clouds and feeling the change in atmosphere and temperature was an amazing sensation.
The whole experience of winning this prize is something that Delia will never forget; from getting a phone call to say she was the winner through to every single moment of being in Japan.
